The Tasman and Nelson regions are at the top of New Zealand's beautiful South Island.

The Nelson area is well known as a summer paradise, but with day time temperatures around 15 degrees Celsius during the winter and the highest sunshine hours in NZ, it is becoming known as a year round destination.

The stunning 18 hole golf course at Motueka (15km) is a treat any time of the year. This is an outstanding golf course, beautifully maintained, the seaside layout will challenge the best of golfers and seduce those mere mortals among us. Gently contoured with over 6000 trees lining the fully watered fairways (good golfing even in summer), green fees start at around $NZ15 and all players are welcome. Another "must try" secret of Nelson is the Rainbow Ski Field overlooking the Nelson Lakes National Park. Just 2 hours drive from Kaiteriteri Apartments, this ski field has full facilities; tows, lifts and hire equipment.

Nearby Motueka and approaches is well represented by vineyards and craft galleries. The area rivers are known world-wide for brown trout fishing.

The Nelson area is the perfect place to "drop out" or get into outdoor sports and events.

Tours to the local wineries, the Ngarua caves, Farewell Spit, Pupu Springs and other attractions such as craft shops can be arranged.
